How is trading on platforms like eToro compared to trading on Maybank KE?

Forums are saying that eToro has a wider bid/ask spreads as compared to brokerages like Maybank KE. Does it inadvertently cost more to trade on eToro then? What about other considerations like the credibility of eToro?
