As I'm in the building/facility sector, the monthly salary is not that high. Recently I just graduated and was thinking if I should change my existing job and hoping if I can get a higher pay. Since from what I understand from my other colleagues that they submitted their uni cert to HR but no pay revise was given.
Should I take the risk? As I'm going to get my BTO and marriage soon in coming 1 year
Depending on how open your manager is (and how your past performance/attitude has been), I feel you should have a sit-down session with your manager and tell him/her about your concern. Try and seek advice from your manager. If your manager is an understanding individual, he/she will know that we are all trying to make a living and especially after you've spent your time and salary to upskill yourself, you should be deserving of a higher pay. Alternatively, see if your manager has any connections / networks that might be able to offer you the salary you are seeking for.
$3k is still the pay before ur degree? Like billy mention u can try talk to your manager, but if there is no vacancy for higher level position, there is nothing he can do also, company no budget.
If HR not revising then is time to abandon ship. Make sure you find a job 1st. Climbing the ladder, need to keep jumping while you are still young , when u over 35years old will be challenging. Sometime need to take risk.
