Hey there anon!

I think if you're lost right now, you should first assess your risk appetite - low, medium or high risk. sThen choose a portfolio that suit your appetite. If you have no idea how to pick your stocks, I think Syfe (or robo) will be your best bet for now. But you must still remember to do your due diligence i.e. what stocks the particular portfolio invests into!

All the best!

U need to note that Reits is dependable on the performance of business activities of Real estate be it in the industrial scene or retail etc and that is it.

Whereas for ETFs, u will have a wider selection of industries/sectors to play around.

Do note that some Reits faced cyclical flucuations eg Retail ones was hit by Covid, or non-festive period ...esp when economical downturn, people may choose to buy lesser luxury goods hence malls that provide more of such goods might be affected

or Hospitality Reits eg those providing hotel or tourism services -dependable on holidays and ....(Do note: the industrial REIT tenants who are suppliers/wholesalers, these tenants financial performance is closely correlated to the health of the economy too)

Office REITs only when hit by bad economy, or during covid times where most work from Home - however still need to pay rent!!

  • u just have to take note, some Reits cut down on their dividends too , passive income may become OVERLY too passive

I m not saying stocks and shares of ETFs wont be affected by cyclical Flux too
