For people who DCA into robos, do you still pick stocks?

Thinking if I should
1. sell my stocks when they're in the green and funnel into robos
2. continue DCA robos and pick stocks every now and then
3. continue to only DCA robos, keep stock

have about 18k in a 5 stocks..
taking home bout 2k-ish / month so limited war chest..
have about 30k+ liquid(bank acc, singlife) as i'm planning to get flat in a couple of years time.

I am still a newbie so appreciate all guidance and critique openly. thank you.

Hello :) Personally, I'll choose to use robos and pick stocks at the same time.

The bulk of my war chest will go to robos for long term investing. The robo portfolio will be the one I DCA into as well to grow my money for the next 10+ years.

I see picking stocks as a chance to "huat". Since I'm not putting too much money there, my losses if my stock picks don't do well are limited. But if I can pick the right stocks at the right time, then I'll get to enjoy the extra upside.

Honestly, I don't have that much time to monitor stocks everyday, so I prefer just buying a few every now and then.

Hope this helps :)

There is nothing wrong with doing both.

I would recommend DCA robos as your core portfolio. Robos help you to manage your risk and return, removing emotion.

While DCA robos, learn to pick stock. Buy at the "right" price, stock that is undervalued. Don't need to be impatient deploying your warchest. I would recommend pooling at least 5k per counter if you are buying Singapore stocks. Strike when there is discount

would recommend the book:

The intelligent investor Benjamin graham and read the shareholders' letter of Berkshire Hathaway founded by warren buffet and charlie munger

Hope my advice help you where to go next

Yes, robo is the core of the portfolio and for stocks i just try to beat the robo and index returns...
