Flight tickets are now at an all time low, what are the risks of buying one, even if there are no change fees?

Context is that I really want to go for a trip to Japan around Feb if possible, and tickets are at $500 for JAL. There are also no change fees should I need to change the dates. What other risk factors should I consider before I think about buying? What are the usual conditions for having no change fees?

Money will be definitely a risk if eventually can't fly but u can change a date so the risk will be lower
But times, leaves ,plans and your schedule of life maybe affected due to the last min changes of the trip due to some situation happening.
