Hello! Not too sure about Gen Infiniti or other companies but I am aware that Smartcademy courses are structured such that you work on a project that you submit at the end, and this can comprise your portfolio because it gives you the opportunity to use the skills learnt in a work context. I personally find that a lot more helpful than just theoretical learning (: In addition, Smartcademy has an alumni network which it connects with employers so I think that this may help in terms of getting your CV/portfolio out into the market as well!
All the best and hope this helps (:
It would depend on the type of certification you are referring to and the skill you are learning from these boot camps. As most of the time, the certification would probably just help you to stand out slightly more from your other peers that are also just starting out.
Moreover, some skills do not necessarily require you to have a certification but instead work experience matter more. You should research on the field you are going into and if certifications/qualifications are needed. Therefore I would say it is a good to have to help land you in a job interview but to secure the job would be based on how you perform in the interview.
