By arranging for a ride with drivers, you effectively bypass Grab, which charges a commission between 20-30%. Said commission then goes to discounting your rides.

They are posted by Provider (driver) and Requestor (Rider) who needs a ride. There's no middle man thus price is determined by Driver and if a Rider accepts the price quoted, then it's on. Otherwise, there's no deal.
