Do you set a budget for Christmas shopping?

Wondering if I should get some Christmas gifts for my friends and colleagues, but it seems to be potentially a lot. If you do set a budget, how much do you set aside for the Xmas season?

It's nice of you to think of buying gifts for friends or colleagues.

For friends, I guess it depends how close you are to them.

For colleagues, if you are buying for the whole team, department or office floor, perhaps 1 chocolate bar (kitkat) or 2 Ferrero rocher each is good. Can replace it with nature valley if your colleagues are the health conscious type. I had a colleague who baked 2 chocolate chip cookies for each teammate.

It's always the though that counts. Most importantly, do not buy gifts to impress. I am sure your colleagues would be happy to receive even a small gift.

If you have too many people you wish to gift to, consider writing them greeting cards.
