Do employers still favour local uni grads over private uni grads? I'm from a private uni and will be graduating soon, but am worried I can't find a job, especially in this tight labour market.
I know I shouldn't feel sorry for myself and should instead think of other skills or experience I can use to better "sell" myself. But coming from a private uni has always had a huge impact on my low confidence...
Dont bother too much about your what uni you are from because its how you think and respond during an interview that is what that matters. Of course some may argue that local uni provides more opputurnities like exchange prog or internship, etc.
Please believe in yourself and besides, it only the first job that is the hardest to get and after that people will hire for your experience. Do some internship to boost yr confidence. Jia you
Private Uni Alumni here and many friends including Singaporeans & other international friends are doing fine.
In fact, none of us bothered about this thing. We always focus on how to upgrade our skills, get an upgraded roles and keep learning.
If this point of view, seeing local uni alumni always have a better change, in the reality is always the truth, then better close down all private unis in sg haha.
