Can a foreigner have a bank account in Singapore?

I'm an expat considering working in Singapore in the coming years. How do I get an account setup and which is the best one for me?

Yes, you can! There are a few things that you should look out for when opening a bank account in Singapore, usually convenience first (meaning availability of ATMs etc.) then look for high interest yielding savings account.

Some things that the bank might require of you:

  1. Passport / Employment Pass

  2. Proof of Residential Address

Just go to any bank with your employment pass to open an account. Most basic banking account are very similiar here, with very low interest rate. You should start with that first.
