Hey Anon!

That actually sounds like a great idea, especially with many hours spent on the screen.

For those of us who are clueless, terrariums are a small, enclosed environment for certain plants, itโ€™s like a mini-greenhouse!

The plants and the soil in the terrarium release water vapour, the vapour is then collected onto the walls of the vessel and trickles down to the soil. Enclosed terrariums are self-nourishing, which is why they are considered low maintenance.

You can purchase DIY kits, get in-store ones or customise one for yourself! Most shops offer all three services.

Disclaimer: This list is not exhaustive.

Here are just a few options:

  1. A Tilly A Day (From $15)

For just $15, you can purchase a DIY kit that includes:

  • Plastic vessel

  • Large (Height 12cm, Diameter of 9cm)

  • Small (Height 10.5cm, Diameter of 7.5cm)

  • Fittonia Plant and/or Holland Moss

  • Pebbles

  • Terrarium Mix

  • Coloured Sand and Volcanic Rocks

Sounds like a great $15 investment if you ask me!

2. Lush Glass Door (from $14.80)

If you donโ€™t like to go to the trouble of creating your own, you can order in-store ones as well at pretty good prices as well! For example this Cillian Mini Egg Shaped Eternal Baby Breath with Colored Moss.

Plastic Height: Approx 9.5cm

Plastic Diameter: Approx 6cm

They would be perfect for door gifts or for events!

3. Green Banana (from $29)

You can order more classy looking ones as well, such as this open egg shaped terrarium.

For $29, it includes: an airplant, a watering tool and a carrier box with maintenance instructions.

Glass dimensions: 14.5 cm (h) x 12 cm (dia)

Hope this helps! And if anyone else has any terrarium recommendations please do share with us! ๐Ÿ˜Œ
