Assuming I’m only able to get one of them now, is it better to start with VOO to create a strong foundation or straight into VGT with tech doing so well?

VOO will be the Core while VGT can be the Satellite holding. Key is to have a main portfolio (core) and allocate tactically into a sector (satellite) to capture higher gains. By owning both you can manage your downside while extending your upside via VGT.

Why not QQQ? It is more heavily invested in tech than VOO but less than VGT so it’s a good in between.

As a beginner start with

VOO (or better VUSD/VUSA)

and/or

IWDA

VGT is risky.
