Why would you decumulate? If you need the money for short term purposes, my question to you is, why did you invest in the first place?

The only reason people decumulate is to use it for retirement. But even so if you attain your Financial Freedom amount, you should be following the 4% rule so that you form a self sustaining passive income framework.

Like Peter Lynch said, the goal is to stay invested forever, when you sell a secruities on the stock market, you ought to be recycling the capital back into another securites, by transferring from a higher risk (overvalued) stock to a lower risk (fair value/undervalued) stock.
