Are battery chargers worth it?

I feel yes, bought a set recently (Varta LCD plug charger type 57677 V2), nice.

I would think it depends on how often do you use the batteries and for what devices are you using it for. If you need to change batteries quite often then probably rechargeable batteries would be a better choice and getting a battery charger would be worth it in the long run.

However, if you are just using the batteries for devices that are in power then a simple battery from a value dollar shop would do the trick as it is cheap and serves its purpose. Moreover, some batteries can't be kept long and if you don't change them frequently, it might spoil.
