I see that a lot of people spend 70k-100k on renovating their resale flat which is a HUGE cost... what are some ways I can save on it :(
The 3 most costly expenses are the flooring, electrical wiring, and carpentry in a renovation.
For flooring, if you don't like the color. Opt for overlay instead of tiles. These days, overlay flooring is much easier to maintain and are of better quality.
For electrical wiring, try to source your own handyman. However, there must be coordination between your ID and the handyman during the renovation process. You do not want a case where you need to destroy your new featured wall because there is no power outlet for the television.
For carpentry, just do the necessary. In my opinion, the kitchen cabinet is a necessary cost while a room wardrobe is not. There are many places you can shop for your furniture.
So, just be mindful of these costs and stick to a budget.
This is easy - set a budget and stick to it! Yes, it may sound too simple, but often we spend too much time, effort, and life-savings to build the dream house. However, in reality, all we need is a simple place that you can call it home.
