After a few years I have been working, I wish someone would have advised me to find out the details what are the relevant jobs which the course of study I have chosen lead to. At least, have conversations with those already in the working fields to tell what are the real tasks, roles and also the prospect. But note that choosing the right company is also critical. I think some of the education or career fairs would be helpful.

It is minimum lot size to buy over SGX. But need to check if it is cost effective for the brokerage fee to buy esp. for penny stock. I have a friend whose strategy (trade, not investing) is to buy 7-8k for a stock to reduce the cost effect via iOCBC (brokerage fee = $25)

If it is about coffee... I spent quite frequently for Starbucks coffee until my wife bought me a compact semi-auto Delonghi expresso maker, just little over $400. I use it to make my own coffee every morning, just within 5 minutes, even it is latte. Then, I spent about $5 for 2 liters of fresh milk fortnightly. Whenever I go travel, I buy many, really plenty of ground coffee to stock up. I have reduced significantly spending at Starbucks since then.

I had an experience for Booking.com with MYR via Singapore credit card. The booking offered free cancellation. I did make cancellation eventually. So, the refund was of course given in MYR to my credit card. I actually lost about 6% due to conversion rate. I guess this is also a kind of hidden cost. Lesson learned here is to make transaction in SGD if you foresee possible to pursue refund.

I am not sure about other people. From my working experience in total 3 companies including the current one, 2 are MNC and leaders in the industry, I would only care whether my supervisor is a good leader as long as the company is not notorious of its welfare. The company could the best company, but does not directly make you the best employee unless your supervisor is good. So, if the current company is ok, you have a good supervisor, I think staying to gain more experience is not a bad idea. Otherwise, move.

When my friends got married and had their kids, my girlfriend and I were still hanging around, enjoying the sweet moments. Then, we married in our thirties. We have our first kid at 34. While our friends started to enjoy more without babysitting, we struggled. But there was no regret because everyone has their own fate. For marriage, you cannot force it. Just enjoy and cherish every moment you have as single.. when you're attached to someone, you will likely miss some of those days being single. Make some memories..

Once you get into an organization, it's easier for you to maneuver within. No harm learn something since you're fresh graduate.

If people treat me as a tool at my workplace, there is not even a single reason can convince me to stay. There are still many companies out there. Sometimes, we really need to explore. And many times, I have friends' or mine experience telling me, there are blessings come in disguise of unfortunate events.

At the age of 28, I decided to study and work part time in the UK after a 4 years-stink in the industry. I took the opportunity to travel some places in the UK and Europe. Some of my friends took the holiday visa to explore the regions. These are the alternatives which do not cost you a fortune if you wish to have different life experience. Note that, after 2 years of sabbatical, I had to start fresh in the industry. But I have no regret about it.

I am not expert here for resume creation. But as someone who has experience to read some real candidates' resumes, my feedback is, pls write one with quality. I take the resume is part of the reflection of someone's character and working style. If I needed someone who need to write a good report, I don't look for a candidate with lots of typos and the content does not entice me calling him or her to for interview.
