I've recently purchased share using CPF via UOB CPFIS account. How do I sell them now? Can I sell through the broker platform?

Yes I believe you can sell them through the broker platform and the money will go back to your CPFIS account. You can then give instructions to transfer the money back into your CPF via the bank account that is linked to your CPFIS account.

Nothing much has changed. Past historical data has shown that there is no clear trend of the SG stock market after every election. Continue to focus on good companies with solid fundamentals and you will do fine over the long run :)

What to look out for in the company's financial report when purchasing SG blue chip stocks?

I think there are no hard and fast rules here but you definitely want to look out for the following in my opinion: 1. Are revenues and profits increasing? 2. How is the debt level of the company? Overly leveraged companies will face the risk of bankruptcy if they are unable to clear their debt on time during a crisis. 3. Is the Return on Equity (ROE) of the company at healthy levels of at least 15%? Of course the list above is not exhaustive but it will serve as a good first cut to sieve out lousy companies. You may also want to ask yourself moving forward whether the company can continue to innovate in their industry and capitalise on future growth drivers to continue to add value.

Ask yourself if the company is still doing well and growing fast. If you are convinced that there is still a long runway for growth, why would you want to give up the good future gains? Alternatively, if the company has matured and its growth has slowed down, you may want to consider redeploying to another company that has better growth prospects.

Hi, in my opinion I would not invest in Unit Trusts due to the higher costs involved. (e.g. 1 - 2% more overall) You may want to consider any of the local banks even though a dividend cut is very possible in the near future but I believe that in the long run things will get better and you can actually buy in at a good price now.

Investment Courses

Has anybody went for the investing course which used Gurmit Singh to market their course?

Unfortunately I did not come to this page and almost ended up paying for the full course. Placed a deposit which was only partially refundable. Agree with the rest that there are many upsells which is what I heard from another friend. Even after paying thousands of dollars for the course you still have to bring a few hundred dollars to the course to contribute as ‚Äúprize money‚ÄĚ for a supposedly investing game held during the course. In my opinion it is just run by a group of people whose main goal is not to educate but to exploit beginners. They use FOMO and scarcity mentality to get people to sign up during their preview sessions (I know cos‚Äô I was there before). If you truly want to learn a proper framework I recommend Growth Investing Mastery (GIM). You can check out their free preview here before deciding if you want to commit: bit.ly/growthstockspreview
