Education

Would it be worth it to get a scholarship to fund your full-time studies and take on more stress; or would you rather study part-time and work to fund your part-time studies instead?

I have many friends who took the path of studing part time while working, and i gathered from the experiences that studying while working requires very stringent time management. Honestly, it is very tiring to study after ending from work. Many of my peers struggle to score a decent grade with part time studies as they often have to put in extra hours due to work commitments I would say, get a scholarship. The stress is only during the semester, and afterwhich you have the liberty of doing what you want in the holidays to explore. Any bond commitments thereafter is also a positive, as you do not have to working about getting a job.

Hi, how I can save money and make money while in university? Really thinking of getting through university without relying on my parents as I don't wish to add on to their expenses?

NTU often sends out emails offering part time work that requests for student helpers. Being a research university, there are many professors that seek to conduct studies and are willing to pay students to participate in their experiments, depending on the duration. Do check your student email from time to time!

Diversify my portfolio to include stocks; I would like to find out more about stocks before making an informed decision.

I have not started work yet, but intend to give 20% of my take home pay - I think it's good for a start, and will hopefully give more if I can.
