Hello! Not too sure about Gen Infiniti or other companies but I am aware that Smartcademy courses are structured such that you work on a project that you submit at the end, and this can comprise your portfolio because it gives you the opportunity to use the skills learnt in a work context. I personally find that a lot more helpful than just theoretical learning (: In addition, Smartcademy has an alumni network which it connects with employers so I think that this may help in terms of getting your CV/portfolio out into the market as well! All the best and hope this helps (:

I think that Nathaniel has given a very comprehensive answer already, but just to add on, I think that going digital is a very important factor as well. This can help to increase the awareness of your cafe and hence drive more foot traffic there. This is especially important if your cafe is not at a very accessible place! You can consider taking a short course on digital marketing to help market your cafe! I think that this article is pretty useful. All the best! https://mothership.sg/2020/07/businesses-covid-19-digitalisation-smartcademy/

What are some jobs that I can work from home to earn some income aside from part time for pre-enlistee / NS men?

Hello! I think that if you are looking for a side hustle to get some cash in the long term it is worth investing in taking a course on some in-demand tech skill like Digital Marketing or App Development. It is not an immediate solution but I think that it makes much more sense in the long run! Singapore is currently encouraging upskilling for all citizens which means that there are currently many courses available that are eligible for claims. (aka free or very affordable!) I found this article quite useful so maybe you can check it out and consider! https://thesmartlocal.com/read/training-courses-smartcademy/

Hi there, I think that most importantly this business must value-add to consumers. After all, the most important thing is that there is demand for the product/service that you are offering, pandemic or not. Thereafter, I think that moving your business online will help greatly given the limited interactions available these days. Since the business is home-based, online marketing will definitely help to raise awareness and outreach for your business!! There is a digital marketing course offered by Smartcademy which is conducted real-time by industry experts! I found it very informative and thing it will definitely be of help to you. Do check it out and all the best (: p.s. there is funding support for this course!! https://smartcademy.sg/intro-to-digital-marketing/

Hello! SIngapore is currently encouraging upskilling for all citizens which means that there are currently many courses available that are eligible for claims. After picking up such a skill I think that there will be opportunities to do some of these work freelance which will help you to earn some additional money as well! This article may be of help to you: https://thesmartlocal.com/read/training-courses-smartcademy/ Investing is definitely a great way to make your money work for you, but I wouldn't view it as a way to earn additional money. I see it more as a method to make your money grow and generate returns versus leaving your savings in the bank. I wish I started thinking about these at 20 too, so all the best!! :D

Hi! I think that it really helps when you decide on your financial goals? For example, big ticket item purchases in the future, or events such as children or a wedding. From there you will be able to map out how much you need at which age and hence the time lines for the financial decisions that you make. At least, that is what I think! Hope that helps in some way

Is there anyway to pick up industry skills without having to fork out too much? Been trying to look for affordable online courses to upgrade my skills but most are quite expensive. Any advice?

Hello! If you are keen on web development, there is a company called Smartcademy which offers a comprehensive 3-week course. I think their courses are unique because it is conducted by a trainer real time over online video platforms rather than recorded and uploaded! So it's more personalised and helpful especially for beginners. In addition, there will be a project for you to work on which can form your portfolio. This will also provide you with a proper web developer experience, which I think will be beneficial given that you want to break into the industry (: Here is their URL if you are keen! All the best :D https://smartcademy.sg/
