$owl offer other services like Will/estate planning....but Endowus dont do that (just focus on advices on investment purely) Robo like stashawy not qualified to tap on Low-cost funds from the Dimensional Fund adv..they believe in having strong algorithms to pick stocks at right time, oro when to "reptimimise" or rebalance.......

I have a Syfe 100% Reit+ portfolio, where return is positive while the time-weighted return is negative. Why is it so?

Hi! I felt time-weighted return (twr) comes in useful if u put in sums more than once during your investmt period or u done dca(dollar cost averaging) TWR formula multiplies the returns for each sub-period or holding-period (i.e. your daily Net Asset Value), which links them together showing how the returns are compounded over time. The TWR helps eliminate the distorting effects on growth rates created by inflows and outflows of money. (For example, if they occurred in the beginning of the month they would have a higher weight than if they occurred at the end of the month.) Just to share many ways to measure returns for assets, not just the 1-2 mentioned here... your overall portfolio returns or the money-weighted returns (MWR )incorporates the size and timing of cash flows, a "straightfwd" to understand method... MWR sets the initial value of an investment to equal the future cash flows such as dividends added, withdrawals, deposits, and the sale proceeds. In other words, MWR helps determine the rate of return needed to start with the initial investment amount factoring all of the changes to cash flows during the investment period including the sale proceeds. Hope it wont sound more confusing after reading, initially i felt so too! extra reading: Total Returns show the overall returns of your portfolios and is the sum of both of Portfolio Returns and Currency Impact, net of all fees. Essentially, Investment/portfolio Returns (1) + Currency Impact (2) = Total Returns (3) if your portfolio is invested in USD denominated assets, they could be equities or bonds from europe or china etc but denominated in uSd...

What is happening to the stock market right now, why is it suddenly rallying to Post-COVID levels? Anyone has any insight?

I dont exactly see it as a "rally" , i see it that the Circuitbreaker or the lockdown has been way too long and it is only time for the economy to "slowly" pickup (not all stocks climbed up, some are still lacking of activities) , some malls/office buildings finally get to operate/open up or allowed to work at premise, which is why u get to see some "activities" in REITs or retail/commercial in the past, u get to divert your funds to bills/notes or saving bonds but now???https://www.facebook.com/147322899276238/posts/547838485891342/?vh=e&d=n since there are no good rates, then we better do something else, rather than letting our eggs rot... Rebound is expected as there is nothing wrong with being forward-looking for Vaccines, and other solutions. If everything is to be pulled down just by a Flu (Pandemic) , then it is truly a joke!! Let's have faith in humans, who will know how to use their brains to get onto another bandwagon to sell their products and to create new biz opportunities (that in a way, will lead to other related biz opportunities again) If a slight rebound is not to be expected, why then is Fed or sg govt doing so much(eg by digging into reserves) , forking out such a high % of their GDP to boost the economy, why save SQ then?? when all these measures are not gonna improve the situation at all??? Let's see who has the final laugh, of course there will be some form of Unemployment (depending on the industry), but a good government is using their might to save jobs and to save her people..... Analysts would alwys want to put fwd a conservative prediction but that doesnt mean they have the best bet there is never a time when things are "truly sustainable" or "predictable", in every crisis, there lies an opportunity please! But good to do better investment planning than to chiong for stocks
