While I did not have a literal 'piggy bank', I did believe that saving and prudent use of money was an important value - so I saved money to be placed in my bank account. I decided on my own allowance (a rather small amount) and usually did not ask for much more than what I needed for my expenses. Honestly, I do not really have things that I wanted or saved up for. Although my family lived comfortably, I did not particularly feel the need to buy certain toys or things I wanted. When there were exceptions, such as a computer or a specific item, I would request my parents to pay for them. These requests would be few and well thought through so self-regulation has always been something I practised.
