What are your thoughts on Singapore Life's 3% Endowment Plan which offers guaranteed returns over 3 years for deposits between $1k - $6k? As opposed to SSB and FD? High opportunity cost/low returns?

Hi Gabriel, I am not sure that people want to invest in endowment plans especialy in Singapore, where 17 years old boy/girl have good knowledge of stocks investment. People in Singapore are more active toward financial planing as compare other countries. They know that how to make money with low risk of capital in short term period. Don't you think that 3 percent of return is very less for 3 years investment.

I follow the golden rule of Warren Buffet that "Never put all eggs in one basket". That's why I would love to suggest you to put 5k in capital gains and 5k in dividend paying investment. Moreover you can also try for REIT's, a good REIT provides you more than 50% return of investment. chech out my post https://seedly.sg/questions/what-are-the-key-criteria-for-evaluating-reits

As per my vision. Bitcoin may take another high in 2022. Things are changing regarding cryptocurrency. More people are getting involved in this type of investment. Although several countries government has banned this type of investment. But on another hand, big players are looking for a middle way to open the door for safe investment in crypto.

Definitely, it depends on your nationality, your education, your age and even the type of job (permanent, part-time...) But something that has changed nowadays is expertise over any skill. Nowadays, people are looking for a skilled person as compared to more educated and degree holders. If you have good hands on any skill, you can make good money in Singapore.

As per my experience you must check following things before investing in a Singapore company. 1. Never jump blindly into stock markets 2. Evaluate your comfort zone in taking on risk. 3. Draw a personal financial roadmap for sudden ups and downs in your income. 4. Keep eyes on Fundamental news about the invested stocks 5. what is the shareholder return in last 5 years

Yes, bond return are slow but they are more secure and low risky as compared to stocks. I prefer stocks for invest until fundamentals for the companies do not change. I believe that stocks investment is safe until it change the direction according to estimates. I prefer stocks investment because they don't bound me for a time period.
