Do investors still need to use roboadvisors to invest now that TD Ameritrade offers $0 commission for US markets?

If you already know the ETF you gonna pick, ofcourse DIY will be better! You will need to rebalance the ETF yourself thn. However I do think some robo-advisor brings value. Only used StashAway and I know they: 1) will rebate trailer fee 2) they will help to claim portion of the 30% witholding tax 3) I followed their weekly commentaries and I do see the benefits of portfolio re-optimisation. 4) rebalance fee is free from StashAway, included in management fee

Emergency fund typically around 6-12m of your expenses. Since you going NS and most of your expenses will be taken care of, you can leave about 6m. Personally using StashAway and would recommend it.

Long user of StashAway. Please give them a try. These are the extra benefits beyond what is written on other blogs: A) Do find time to attend their online weekly class on budgeting, investing and their investing framework. They have podcast and weekly market commentary now! B) Their portfolio has multiple risk level, 6.5% to 36%. C) Their goal based investing will automatically titrate down the risk until you need the money. D) In covid period, they offered healthcare worker 6months free management. E) The way they handled Malaysia auto-debit incident well.

What is the fund for? From what I know, endowus 1.9-2.2% can have dip, and takeup some time to recover. Where as in simple or core Endowus, money market funds tends to have less risk in that regards. If you can afford to wait for the fund to recover, go for Endowus maybe?

Hi all, currently I have different baskets of investment such as ETF, robo advisor and stocks. Currently Iā€™m using the plain old excelsheet, is there any good software to track these investments?

ETF and stocks can be tracked using investing note or stock cafe. For me, I track stocks with investingnote apps. End of month, I manually key in the total amount in different platforms(stocks, robo, CPF) in excel.

REITs

Hi, i'm a newbbie. Why do people invest in S REITs for dividends (aka income) when the interest is very low? Why not just invest in global ETFs and just sell off the interest gained from it (income also?) as the interests are higher?

Local bias. If you lives in Singapore, you can walk around vivocity or funan to see whether they are performing well! Also, Reits is a form of property investment and deemed 'safer' for most people.

SG banks & branded Reits(mapletree, capitaland) sounds like good pick for you. MAS just realised circular asking bank to cap dividend to 60% of last year's. Nothing is permanent, do constantly reflect whether those companies can keep survive well.

The way you put money into the system sounds good. However, do plan how you want to withdraw money out. Kindly consider to reduce risk level(move to less risky profile) over time when you are 2-3 years away from withdrawing money.
