In my POV, your girlfriend and her siblings (if any) ought to be footing the bill instead since they should be responsible for their own parents. But given that you are 'well to do' and plays a part in eating as well, you should probably help to split the bill too. Also, try pursuading them to eat out less often. Cooking together is actually pretty fun and good for bonding! Otherwise, do opt for cheaper food options or take advantage of discount apps such as Entertainer, Burpple, Groupon, Shopback Go...

Based on my experience, most insurers will allow you to upgrade your current hospitalisation plan / purchase riders but with an exclusion clause for thyroid & its related health issues. Once you are fully discharged by your doctor, you may try to appeal with your insurer to remove the exclusion (though I was advised by my agent that the success of such appeal is very low). However, if you decided to stick with your current plan, you will still be able to claim for Hyperthyroidism and Atrial Fibrillation. If you hold a full time job at the moment, do look at your company insurance as most corporate insurance covers pre-existing / existing / new health condition. PS: I have Grave's disease too and am currently claiming from my company's insurance for my regular outpatient visits (blood test, consultation and medications). (non-finance related) Lastly, would recommend you to: 1. drink green tea daily! Doing so has shown great effects in helping me to lower my resting heart rate from 115-120 to 90-100 2. include one spoon of extra virgin olive oil in your daily diet as it has been shown in many reports to help protect your heart 3. get a fitness tracker so that you can track your heartrate

That's a very general statement! I find that the industry, company and role have a much higher impact on fresh graduates' starting pay as compared to their choice of education. For e.g. - an investment banking intern / full-timer at Goldman Sachs earns approx S$8000/mth - a facilities management intern / full timer at Land Transport Authority (LTA) earns S$800/mth and $3500/mth respectively Also, most companies have a standard salary package based on your role and experience. Therefore, the starting pay should be the same for the same company and role, irregardless of the graduating university. For that reason, I think that salary guides that are classified by degree / qualifications are more accurate of fresh graduates' starting salaries.

I think it boils down to the type of investment you are looking at. You can refer to this article here that lists the pros and cons of CDP vs Custodian: https://blog.seedly.sg/cdp-vs-custodian-account/ Moreover, there is no requirement for min trades with CDP and you can leave your account untouched with no charges! Therefore, I think you should open an account even if you have no use for it now because it will take approx 2-3 weeks for your application to be approved!

I don't think gold is a good investment! Here's a pretty detailed article by Seedly x Financial Horse that discussed why https://blog.seedly.sg/3-key-reasons-why-i-will-not-invest-in-gold/ But I do spend on gold jewellery on special occasions solely because I loveeee gold. Also, they hold value incase I need to pawn them for money on rainy days!

Abit crude but I would like to think that everyone is working to pay bills and having good colleagues / work environment is a bonus. However if this is affecting your health / personal life and you have better opportunities elsewhere, then you might want to explore a change!

I'm into gardening lately! After staring at the computer the entire day, I really look forward to going home to trim and admire my plants. Here my biggest harvest so far :)

Hi Nicholas, I'm not sure about other travel insurance but I got mine from Aviva for my last holiday. You might want to download and read their travel policy document here https://www.aviva.com.sg/en/insurance/travel/. If I understand the policy correctly, you should be able to claim under 12a. Trip Cancellation for insured event 1 or 2 provided you meet the 'special conditions' highlighted in the screenshots below. 1. You, Your spouse .... suffering from Serious Injury or Serious Illness, being Quarantined or dies. 2. One of the following people suffering from life-threatening injury or illness, is Quarantined or dies .... All claims resulting from medical reasons, Quarantine or death must be supported by medical reports or a death certificate (or both) indicating the necessity to cancel Your Trip. In the worst case scenario, you can also claim under 12b. Trip Cancellation For Any Reason provided you purchase the travel insurance before or within 7 days from the date you made payment for your trip.

Anyone into streetwear here? Surprised to see a plain black Supreme shirt retailing for 140,000 yen (approx 1.8k sgd) in Osaka and the Chinese tourists lugging bags of them 🤷 ♀️🤷 ♀️🤷 ♀️
