Possible, but as with any industry, there are successes and failures. online seller is similar to a trader, without a brick and mortar store. you earn the price difference between your supplier and your customer. and you will also need to pay "rent" for your online store. i will warn you against signing up for their courses promising you can be rich and retire early. experiences tell me they show you only the success cases and not the failures. (yes, i had my fair share of trusting wrong courses thinking i can get passive income). ever saw a book amazon for dummy or a similar title in library. can go read. or watch youtube like (search: ted wholesale) to get a feeling of what you are getting into. there is no short cuts. don't go in thinking it is simple and you can generate millions very easily. if this is possible, the course salesman will concentrate their time generating millions. why would they want to teach you for a few thousands. hope this helps. will be glad to discuss more.

Similar to LVJ experience, trusted wrong people. was misled to think that paying few thousands for a 3-day course will make me as good as warren buffett. then also trusted wrongly insurance con agents. needless to say lost a lot of money along the way. if really embarrasing, once i donate like 10cents to donate to a school event, but the prefect collecting the money was like wtf 10c only @#!% lah, so-and-so retirement party you so stingy. and the whole class then know i jiam siap kwee. lol

Not an adviser, but seen too much to know their pattern. as long as they are financially remunerated to sell expensive products, they will. i think, legally yes, they have a duty of care, but they will always make you sign some thick document to cover their @ss first. ever met an adviser, who also happens to be very active in this community. gives a lot of advises, but will never commit into writing what his recommendations (ie his rational for choosing the plan, and why he recommends me to surrender other plans). that could be one way to see if the adviser is really sincere. a better way, at least to me, is to speak to someone who are not reimurated by commissions. could be direct employers of the insurance co. or the advisers at sonylife FA https://www.sonylifefa.com/ (all of their adviers are not commission based) hope this helps.

There is a calculator on temasek website. https://www.temasek.com.sg/en/our-financials/temasek-financial-iv-bonds/tf4s1#bondcalculator i am assuming you are referring to this ticker (SGX:TEKB) available to retail investors. as of today, you will get 1.91% yield to maturity. you will get the remaining coupons (interests), but you will not get back your "capital" even if temasek does not default. reason is you buy today price is $1.037, but temasek will redeem at $1. hope this helps.

Generally, for unit trusts, i look at their investment thesis, benchmark, fees, valuation and fund managers. https://www.franklintempleton.com.sg/download/en-sg/common/j4apvcfj/Franklin-U.S.-Opportunities-Fund-4913-Z5-fact-sheet.pdf https://www.franklintempleton.com.sg/investor/products/documents/4913/1J/franklin-u-s-opportunities-fund specifically for this fund, 1. they did not beat the index. 2. PEG and PE are too high for me (overvalued). but the EPS grow still good at 15%. 3. decent expense ratio (1.81%) 4. high sales charge. the annualised returns after sales charge is about 3.32%. which is about the same as S&P500. therefore I do not see why i need to pay high fees, but get similar returns as S&P500 which has lower fees. maybe you will be better off buying IUSG the ETF which is tracking the benchmark used by this fund. hope this helps.

Snapshot of my syfe reit portfolio as of today: ! specific to this reit+ portfolio: pros: spread out over sectors and geography big names reits, good management SGD denominated. no forex risk. cons: did not specify whether the 15 reits are fixed or it can be added or reduced as and when required. dont like the inclusion of bond fund inside whether is it worth it, depends on your desired returns and also whether do you have time to study individual stock or index. https://www.businessinsider.sg/syfe-launches-reit-portfolio-to-give-investors-easy-affordable-access-to-sgx-listed-reits/ the above article reported that backtesting shows 5 years generated 9% yield, whereas S&P500 returns was ~12%. if you know how to pick stocks or index, picking individual reits may outperform syfe reit index. but as with robos and robos portfolio, the idea is in the low starting capital, the flexibility (no lock up period), low fees and auto rebalancing. i see reits generally as "safer" investments due to the regular dividend payouts. don't think it will continue to run like the past 1-2 years. personally, the run up was probably due to interest rates cuts. so, if in future central banks increase rates reits interest expenses may increase. hope this helps.

Loved it. real educational stuff. i think i learnt more in 2 hours in sgx academy than 1 whole day in other course sellers free workshops. even the paid courses are so much cheaper and more indepth. (i know because i mistrusted external course salesmen before. wasted thousands in course fees.) in the end found the trainers in sgx academy more sincere and more willingness to teach even if i do not go for their paid courses.) no fluff. no hard selling. no grandmother stories. no father die mother die one underwear two people share stories. no clowns jumping on table. no empty promises of can easily become rich. you know what i mean if you been to other free workshops. even if there is any hard selling in sgx (so far i did not encounter), you can easily walk away as it is a large auditorium. hard selling usually happens only from course sellers held in small seminar rooms and filled with their own staffs keeps on pestering and brainwash. avoid those like the plague!
