Hi Jeffrey,
CI can be obtained as a rider on top of a term plan or as a standalone.
The question is, what are you concerned about protecting against? Recurrent CI? Or just a single time claim?
If you are worried about recurrent CI, then you can get a multipay plan, or add a multipay rider on top of a term plan (I think only a handful of insurers can allow this).
If not, a single payout rider on a term plan works as well.
If you are certian about what you are looking for in terms of your coverage, an advisor will be better positioned to recommend an appropriate plan for your needs.
