With the government subsidy, should I switch from Eldershield to Careshield for my mum while keeping the ElderShield supplement? What should I consider?

My mum is 55 and healthy, on Eldershield 400 + Singlife ElderShield Standard ($800) since 2020. The annual premium is close to 1k as of now, fully paid by medisave. Based on the Careshield premium checker, it shows $900+ per year for Careshield next 3 years. I'm unsure what to consider, and whether it's better to switch or stay. Can anyone provide some advice? Will you switch or stay? Thanks in advance.

CareShield Life typically offers more comprehensive coverage compared to ElderShield, including higher payouts and lifelong coverage for severe disability. CareShield Life can be supplemented with plans from private insurers for even greater benefits, like lower claim criteria and inflation-adjusted payouts. When comparing the two, consider the differences in coverage, the premiums (including subsidies), and the potential future needs of your mum. Since your mum is currently healthy and the premiums for CareShield Life are competitive, it might be a good option. I read this article about reasons to switch to careshield life supplement which might be helpful for you to make a decision
