Will recruiters and HR be able to blacklist me if I back out on a verbal Employment agreement?

I have multiple job offers, lucky me, life dictates that they all come at the same time, literally hours apart.

HR has indicated that they wants my promise because they don't want to go through the motions only for me to back out. I will say both offers are quite keen.

Hence, nothing is contractual, there is no written offer. (Except WhatsApp and email)

I have to make a decision eventually, which will be something sensible financially and career-wise.

Will I be blacklisted and tio mark?

Yes, it's likely recruiters will make a note of your profile. However, there are many HR agencies and recruiters around, so if you do it only once it's not likely to leave a permanent dent in your career. I'm not sure from your question whether you've accepted both offers or only one, or you haven't accepted either one at all. Think about which one you'd prefer to go ahead with. If you turn the other offer down without having made a promise to join them before, it's fine. If you've already made the promise, that will be a burnt bridge with the recruiter plus the company.

Accepting an employment offer and then reneging can be grounds for a lawsuit, but very few companies would go through the expense of initiating legal action unless you somehow caused them massive damages.

If you're taking on a new job, it's helpful to know your employment rights. Here are some guides for employees:

Although it's not a nice thing to do, just be polite about it when you back out on the verbal offer. If your resume is stacked and you're one of the better candidates, they probably won't want to blacklist you as they may want you to still consider them for future opportunities.
