Will be getting our place in 2 years' time... Should we rent or just save $$ and live with parents?

From a financial perspective, there are more benefits with living with parents as compared to renting. But here are the cons to consider when it comes to renting:

• landlord has control and could suddenly trigger an increase in rent or suddenly decide to sell their property
• there is uncertainty with when your new place will be ready and it's challenging to time your rental period with the move in (especially if you decide to renovate the place), which will create unnecessary stress
• your rental is an expense. Instead of spending your money on rent, consider saving it for reno/move-in expenses, or even invest the money

If your parents is okay with it then sure but maybe put some effort in the house and help them out like share responsibility

If your relationship with your parents are good and they are fine with you guys living with them, you should consider doing so and save the rental money to pay off your loans for your new property
