In the long run, after all the fees and all, indexing is still the lowest fees and highest reward kinda approach as compared to mutual funds.

John Bogle taught us that the mutual fund industry is all about activities as the more funds and activities, the more the fees here and there.

  • In my opinon, just buy the index S&P / Nasdaq ETF or china index is sufficient for passive investing
  • Certain sectors ETF have higher probability to outperform the general market over long term at a cost of higher volatility.
  • While some will underperform.
  • Robo portfolio is fixed and need to be generic to be relevant to the mass. Have to take care of returns and volatility.
  • If you know what you are doing just DIY. Construct a portfolio that align to your goal. Eg. I dont care about volatility, i only care returns over long term i am ok to go full US tech portfolio and see my portfolio swings
