Heard rumours that a lot of money flowed into SG because of some uncertainty around the US debt repayability.

Which led to banks not needing to be so desperate for free cash and thereby dropping interest rates.

Imagine that insitutional and retail investors thus switched to equities which could explain why this year it went up.
