Why is China market in the red?

I've been keeping track of the market in China and it seems to be either very stagnant or bearish

Have a look at CSI300 index 5-year chart:

Market either goes up, down or flat all the time. A simple glance will tell you that China market seems to be still on the up trend from end 2018. What we are experiencing now is a correction.

Notice after the early 2019 rally, CSI300 pretty much in consolidation for a year before it broke out of consolidation and proceeds to hit all time high early this year. Will CSI300 consolidate for a while and resume the up trend? Nobody knows for sure.
