As above. For me regardless the results are good or bad, it gives info to help me become better (identify my blind spots) and know my bosses better (need to adjust to expectations). + Knowing how I dare after efforts are put in.

I think many people don’t like performance appraisals because they feel stressful and high-stakes. Another reason is that appraisals can affect pay, promotions, or how your boss views you. So people get nervous about being judged. Even if the feedback isn’t great, it can help highlight blind spots and clarify what your boss expects. If done well, it can be a good chance to improve.
