I was reading this best mooncake guide for food fair 2020 and i realise there are so many mao shan wang, bird's nest, truffle champagne mooncakes. wow.
people really more willing to spend on seasonal goodies nowadays. from my experience of mooncakes buying
1) 1 mth before the festival, there are GREAT discounts = early bird promotion
2) 2-4 weeks before the mooncake festival, mooncakes are at its peak price.
3) 1-2 weeks just before the mooncake festival (or mid autumn festival), some of the most popular bakery / hotels would be sold out. Those who are still selling, will start to have discounts. Most likely they want to be sure they don't hold stocks by mid autumn.
And the most important answer today is : 1st October is our mid-autumn festival this year. Prepare your moon cake, your chinese tea, and your lantern for your kids!
