Both works, depends on which you are more comfortable with. By the way, I believe that CDP account only applies for SG stocks.
With a CDP account, it's held in a central depository account and you can use any CDP brokerage to sell these holdings. But in comparison, custodian account means you can only sell using the same brokerage that you used to buy. Typically custodian fees is cheaper than cdp

Hi Anon,
To add on to what Jesslyn and Chris have mentioned, another difference is shareholder rights.
If you hold shares in your CDP account, they are held under your name, so you have full shareholder rights such as access to AGMs and voting rights.
However, for Custodian accounts, shares are often not held in your name but rather in the name of the institution. You may or may not have the same shareholder rights as with a CDP account.
