There are a lot of exchange that support zilliqa. My advise will be to find one that is trustworthy, example, Binance.
Yes. You will need to open an account on exchange(KYC is needed) in order to deposit/withdraw fiat and trade it for zilliqa.
Wallet is for 'safe keeping'. If you are holding an asset on exchange(hot wallet), it is prone to hack. Cold wallet are safe and you will have control over your own private key.
Some coins have staking, sort of like dividend. Zilliqa have, do look into it for extra $$.
