I stay in a 4-room flat. Tiq Home (Etiqa Insurance) is offering $80k for renovation + $45k for contents for a 5-year premium plan that costs ~$300. Good enough or better options out there?
Thanks in advance!

Hey Kai Le!
Seedly has previously written an article on this topic but let me bring out the main points of consideration for you! When choosing your home insurance policy, it's best to understand your needs so you cover yourself sufficiently. If you are looking for the cheapest home insurance, here are some options:
FWD Home Insurance
NTUC Income’s Enhanced Home Standard Insurance
Tiq Home Insurance
Depending on how much coverage you need for home contents or renovations, you can get the lowest priced plan at $35.51 a year. Or the most expensive plan at a yearly premium of $413.77. NTUC Income’s Enhanced Home Standard Insurance offers both the cheapest as well as the most expensive home insurance plans available in the market.
However, you should not just be looking for the cheapest or the most comprehensive insurance plan out there. 2 main things to consider:
1) Renovations, Fixtures and Fittings
If you’re living in a 4-room HDB flat which you renovated for next to nothing, you probably wouldn’t need a costly plan with extensive coverage for this, and vice versa.
2) Home Content
Depending on what you have at home and how valuable your items are, your coverage will vary.
