Which is more important: high income with long working hours or not so high income but good work life balance?

No commitments for the next 2 years, don't spend frivolously.i can't decide which is a better option to choose.

If there's no commitments (e.g. family, kids, relationship) tying you down, good to take the opportunity to earn more money while young. Agree with the below comments that it shouldn't be at the expense of health, so do watch out for any signs of burnout or exhaustion...

Maybe you could give yourself say 2 years at this high paying job, then re-evaluate if to continue or move on. By then, you may have another perspective to life and your personal goals...

Depend on what you want in life. If you are young, driven and want to be challenged and learnt more and has no commitment, go for high income long working hours for a few years to give a good start to your finance and work experience. After that then consider work life balance with not so high income. Of cos if high income work caused you to be burntout that affect health or relationship, is not worth it. Health and family relationship are way more precious than money.

Depends on age and priorities. When one is not married, high income with long working hours and good future prospects. Between 30 and 40, focus on building a stead career path, climb the corporate ladder, 40 to 45 carreer probably start to plateau, 45 years old and after - relook prorities, health comes first. Focus more work-life balance and check your mental health. I am a 51 years old, worked in banking for 31 years, from 17 years old and resigned when I was 48 years old.

When I was young, I would have said, just cheong.
