Switched from SP to Senoko Energy today Sep 8, 2020 to the LifePower24 fixed price plan @17.63c/kWh x 24mths contract.
Selected a Fixed Rate over Discount on Tariffs plan as I prefer a balance of rate stabilty at a rate that is still some 16% lower than the prevailing open market tariff rate of 20.97c/kWh. Fixed rate plans may tend to fare better over longer contract periods eg. 24mths, as the time span may even out fluctuations in quarterly open market base rates.
However, the present Jul-Sep 2020 quarter tariff base rate of 20.97c/kWh is at one of its lowest since 2019, and there are many attractive Flexi rate DOT packages with higher discounts of 20-25% for 6/12/24mths. Do have a look at those as well as we each have different usage and criteria, and it's which best suits our needs I suppose.
Another determining factor was the attractiveness of the Referral & Bank promo codes of the various on-going promotions and bank/credit card tie-ups from the different electricity retailers. Selection was thus relative to my preferred payment mode via Citibank credit card.
Like to share this - settled on using a referral code eg. 99CSFTU9 for a $30 Senoko bill rebate and stacked up with a Seedly bank promo code SEEDLYCITI120 for an additional $120 rebate for recurring payment via Citibank Visa - for a maximum $150 rebate.
Hope these notes will be useful if Senoko Energy is on your shortlist:
1) SEEDLYCITI120 promo code is a limited promo valid till 27 Sep 2020 for the first 250 customers on 24mths plan. In the event this code is fully redeemed, use instead CITIDEAL100 for a $100 rebate on 24mths plan, applicable for new sign-ups & renewals till 30 Sep 2020. T&Cs apply.
2) There are several other bank rebates & cashback promotions with POSB, OCBC & UOB for 6/12/24mths plans, and a promo code GROOVY60 is available for payment modes not using credit cards. You may refer to Senoko Energy online for full details here and see which works best for you: https://www.senokoenergy.com/households/promotions
3) During the online sign-up process, as you input the promo codes there will be prompts indicating the validity of the promo codes being used.
4) For Recurring Payment set-up, it is only after completing the process of online account registration, plan selection & application, and after submitting your application & acceptance online, only then you can set up your recurring payment credit card or Giro details. This entire process is completed at the same time during the same online session.
5) At anytime when in doubt you may make use of the online chatbox for real-time answers to your questions, or you can call their sales enquiry line for guidance.
Whichever your preferred choice of provider and plans, moving from SP to another electricity provider yields immediate savings - Happy Switching!βββ
