Hmm. Most cafes are overpriced to begin with since you are paying for the ambience. So I suggest you should value the 'chill' part more than price alone.

I love the quiet, peaceful cafe with power sockets. One good cafe will be Infusion Roastery Cafe near Serangoon MRT.
