When you use your credit card to buy food at a merchant, will there be any transaction fee or commission charged to my bill other than the food cost?

What are the hidden costs when buying food using a credit card? Does it also depend on the type of merchant?

Never been charged any additional fees for using credit cards for local transactions. Typically, only overseas transactions will incur additional charges.

Hi Anon, generally there won't be additional fees charged to buying your food if you use a singapore issued credit card. Same goes for other purchases with other merchants in Singapore. Don't worry too much, if banks start charging us fees even for use in Singapore, nobody will be using credit cards already.

Generally , for restaurant, there will be no extra cost if you spend in Singapore.

But pretty sure ...
