I keep hearing people say just DCA monthly into S&P500 or ETF and leave it be. So when do people actually withdraw profits? Is this consider retirement fund?

Holding period minimum 5yrs. but if you feel it's good profits, just withdraw some to take profits. how much to take out? depends on yourself. investment is for long term. u want quick profits

Preferably leave most investments long term to maximise gains, I always tell those around me that I only have the buy button, not the sell one - unless of course the primary reason of why i bought it has changed.

When retiring you can withdraw 0.5% a month of your holdings. That way you will take less out when the ETF is down and more when it is up. This percentage is to keep or increase the value of your holdings, so you can increase the percentage if you don't want to leave that much for the kids :)
