When is the Apple iPhone 12 due to launch? I've been waiting for their new phone to come out as it's time for me to recontract mine. Understand COVID-19 has caused some delays, but why is so long?

Apple has recently announced an event on 13 Oct which is most probably be the launched date for the iPhone 12. Pre-order is also set on the 16 Oct if I remember correctly.
