Start as soon as you turn 18! $100 monthly is great!

Before you turn 30, or the earlier even better. There are a lot of good Singapore REITs that pay good dividend yield. But need to do your research. I would allocate around 10% dividend play and 90% on US fundamentally strong growth stocks like Microsoft, Amazon, Google, etc, but this is a riskier strategy.
