My own opinion - when you have your 1st property / when assets (i.e. single account owned bank balances, car, shares etc.) exceeds the value of S$50,000. Because the public trustee do not distribute estates worth more than S$50,000.
worth of assets $50,000 need to hire lawyer to distribute - definitely more ex then than b4 death doing a will ($300 or so).
