In order to really able to hold your investment "forever" and let it compound "forever". The key is you must not run out cash.
I will allocate $200k to cashflow generating instrument.
$300k to growth instrument.
I probably need to continue working.
This type of portfolio may not make you the richest, but it will allow you to have a very strong holding power.
No matter how market move, it will not have much impact to you.
But before you FIRE, quit your job, is better to settle your housing. Difficult to get loan when jobless.
