What stocks should I buy?

Doesn't seem wise to buy and hold for a year in this kind of macroeconomic environment

In terms of local,

OCBC and Sheng Shiong seems to be a good hold for the long term.

For U.S Stocks,

You might want to consider

• Realty Income, for dividend income
• Visa
• Apple
• Berkshire Hathaway

Many US and HK stocks are currently available at reasonable prices. It could be a wise time now to consider your first trench now if you have been building up your war chest for these stocks.

Agree that you should not be buying stocks if your time horizon is 1 year or so. You may want to look into more stable products such as the recent September issue of the SSB - there is a decent rate of 2.6% for the first year.
