What skills can I build to have some sort of income when I FIRE?

In my 30s, aiming to have 1m by the time I hit 40s, hopefully with my own place. Want to still work part time so I can have some sort of income. Doing accounting, but that’s really not my cup of tea. Introverted too.

Try and monetize something you already do and love. Some examples from ppl i know are selling their art pieces, musician gigs, charity work (for some salary), coaching, etc. Mr Money Moustache does carpentry..

If you are not yet FIRE-d, then yes, i suggest looking based on market demand. But if you’ve FIRE-d, i would do what i truly love!

Hi anon! The current skills in demand are digital marketing, data analytics and anything related to tech (e.g. programming). Since you are doing accounting, you can consider learning programming and data analytics to explore other jobs in the finance industry, such as a business analyst.

You can hone IT skills which will be quite essential in the future....
