What should you expect from an insurance agent / financial advisor?

I think see if they are listening to you, and actually promoting plans that fits your lifestyle rather than just promoting plans with the highest comission for them. Also if you click well with them and if they give off a genuine vibe rather than a pushy vibe which makes you feel that they are just after your money

The most recommended option would be to look for an IFA. Other things to look out for is honesty, knowledge and comfort level when you speak to them.

I will talk about these 3: Honesty, integrity and expertise.

• Honesty - Be direct and honest with the answer. I won't expect myself to know everything, neither do I expect an advisor to know everything under the sun. But I would expect to make an effort to find out the answer for my client, and you should expect your advisor to as well

• Integrity - Doing the right thing. Doesn't need much explanation for this.

• Expertise - Knowing his stuff. We turn to advisors because we don't know better and need expert insight into our situation and how to address it, just like how you see a surgeon for their in depth expertise in diagnosing your issue and prescribing the right action to cure you. Advisors need to know their stuff, so to put it.

Depends. For me, i can sought of feel if they really working hard for me. What she did previously was she brought me for check up, paid for all the medical check up fees. Then she will sit down with me to get to know my financial backgrounds and asks what is my target and what i want as well as my budget. Then she will send me a proposal with different plans that will try to covers as much of what i have requested. She then did annual review with me till now. Which is already for 5 years.
