How does Interactive Brokers compare to using POEMs / Vickers?

Hi linseed,

In terms of commission fees, IBKR has the lowest rates. The main issue with them is the monthly fee of 10 USD for AUM under 100k USD.

I'm not too familiar with POEMS' and Vickers' rates so I can't really comment on how they compare, but I believe Vickers has quite a high min commission and charges a custodian fee.

If this is your first investment, instead of starting with Ireland domiciled ETFs off the bat, it may be worth considering starting with US domiciled ETFs instead for the lower fees until you have accumulated over 100k USD in your portfolio, then switching over to IBKR and buying Ireland domiciled ETFs. This may be a more cost efficient way to DCA investments when you're still starting out, but I haven't really done any analysis on this method.

Hope this helps & all the best!
